The Module System
The study program at Muthesius Kunsthochschule is divided into modules. Each module deals with an overarching theme in different forms. Some extend over two semesters. At the beginning, students are taught all the basics. This takes place in exercises, workshop introductions or the so-called basic teaching.
This is followed by lectures, exercises, projects and seminars. In lectures, instructors give an overview of the subject. Seminars, projects and exercises deepen the content. Here, students are expected to work out topics independently and present them to the group.
Module Plans
A module plan exists for each degree program. This provides an overview of courses that should or must be taken in the respective semester. You will find the module plans further down on this page. Based on the module plans, each student creates his or her individual study plan. After registration on the university’s own work platform incom, the plan can be easily created digitally.
Interdisciplinary Network
In addition to the subject-specific courses, the Muthesius Kunsthochschule offers interdisciplinary courses. These are organized by the Center for Media, the Institute for Art, Design and Media Studies with its interdisciplinary forum, and in the workshops open to the university. They organize special theory seminars, symposia, workshop weeks, or teach technical English and other useful skills.
