Studying

The Modular System

Studying at the Muthesius University is divided into modules. Each module delas with a superordinate theme in different forms. Many cover two terms. At the beginning students learn the fundamentals, which are taught in practical courses, introductory workshop courses and in so-called basic courses. These are followed by lectures, practical courses, projects and seminars. The professors present overviews of the themes in lectures. Seminars, practical courses and project increase the understanding of the content of the themes. The students work on themes independently and present them to the group.

Module Plans

For each course of study a module plan exists. This gives an overview of the courses to be attended in each term. Each student uses the module plan to create his or her individual study planner. After registering for the university’s internal work platform incom, this can be created digitally.

Interdisciplinary Network

In addition to specialised events, the Muthesius University offers interdisciplinary events, organised by the Centre for Media, the Institute for Science of Art, Design and Media with its interdsciplinary Forum, and the open workshops. They organise particular theory seminars, symposia, workshop weeks or provide English courses and other useful skills and knowledge.
