The annual exhibition ‘Einblick Ausblick’ was a great success

What a weekend: thousands of visitors attended the annual exhibition ‘Einblick/Ausblick’ at the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts in Kiel. They were able to gain unique insights in studios and workshops: in the old building on Legienstraße, in the rooms at Knooper Weg 75, in the workshop tower, in the spce | Muthesius and in the Gallery Cubeplus, more than 600 students showed the art and design they had created during the academic year.

Information days on 12 and 13 February

The most northerly art academy in Germany invites you to its Study Information Days on Wednesday 12 and Thursday 13 February 2025.

On Wednesday, 12 February, from 2 p.m., all those interested can get to know the courses of study online in direct exchange with students and professors, while on Thursday, 13 February, the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design will open its doors to high school students and all those interested. The varied programme allows visitors to get to know the courses in Fine Art, Art Education at Grammar Schools, Spatial Strategies, Industrial Design and Communication Design on this day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Questions about the application and admission process as well as everyday life at the art academy will be answered, (...)

If you are interested in studying art or design, you can find out everything you need to know with just one click on Wednesday, 23 October at 1 p.m.: How does the application process work at the Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design? Which artistic works should be included in the application portfolio? And what does it look like at the art academy?

The Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design is a member of numerous international and national committees and organisations. The following is a selection.

ERASMUS UNIVERSITY CHARTER

For the Programme for Life-Long Learning 2014-2020 of the European Union the Muthesius received the expanded University Charter. It declares that it will accept and adhere to the fundamentals of the Erasmus Mobility programme. This charter enables the institute to apply for funds for Erasmus activities from its national Erasmus Agency and the Europan Commission. Summarised in the ERASMUS Policy Statement are the strategic goals the Presidium of the Muthesius University will pursue in the period 2014-2020.

ELIA European League of Institutes of the Arts

ELIA is a globally connected European network that provides a dynamic platform for exchange and development in higher arts education. It represents more than 280 members in 52 countries, across all art disciplines. ELIA advocates for higher arts education by creating new opportunities for its members and facilitating the exchange of good practice. International Scenographers’ Meeting

The International Scenographers’ Meeting is linked to the International Scenographers’ Festival, which was initated in 2006 in Basel and focuses on different areas of scenography with its technical and aesthetic innovations every two years.

Muthesius Gesellschaft e.V.

The Muthesius Society as the support society of the Muthesius University promotes student projects and exhibitions and thus helps to make public the work of the institute and its students. Every two years it stages the Muthesius Prize for Art, Space and Design for graduates of the university. 

Society for the Promotion of Foreign Students in Kiel

The society founded in 1994 helps foreign students in financial need under certain pre-defined conditions  Further goals are the promotion of communciation between foreign students as well as between German and foreign students. Measures to improve the success of studies are also supported.
