About us

The world is designed. Many products that shape our learning, our everyday lives and our interactions with public organizations are created by designers. The Muthesius University of Fine Arts and Design (MKH) has the task and obligation to prepare future designers responsibly for future tasks in education and business.

The overall goal of the DLC-ArtLab project is to make innovative design processes and methods accessible to the core target groups of pupils, students, companies and the wider civil society and to convey the latest technological possibilities in a collaborative and experimental way. In the cultural context of the digital turn, the DLC ArtLab aims to make digital  design accessible to the general public and democratize design through digitalization.

With the Digital Learning Culture Art Lab, we want to create a new kind of space at the university where a wide variety of target groups can explore the latest technological possibilities in art and design and learn, research, experiment and evaluate together in a collaborative way – guided by coaches who provide technical, innovative and artistic support for the translation into digital. We want to network knowledge and actors, provide access to current cultural and technical knowledge and contribute democratic and open content to the discussion around the metaverse, AI and XR.

The DLC ArtLab is part of the Digital Learning Campus (https://www.dlc.sh), a new EU and SH funded project involving universities in Schleswig-Holstein. The Digital Learning Campus (DLC) offers everyone in Schleswig-Holstein the opportunity to participate, learn, and shape their personal future, their business, and their country. They can improve their future skills, establish new networks, and develop ideas and projects together that bring about innovations for the economy and society.
