It is a lavish celebration full of art and design: for the annual exhibition Einblick / Ausblick, the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts opens its doors from Thursday, 20 to Sunday, 23 July. On these days, studios, workshops, lecture halls and workrooms will be transformed into an exhibition of around 10,000 square metres: for four days, visitors can gain an insight into the artistic work of students of free art, art for teaching at grammar schools, communication and industrial design as well as spatial strategies. The motto of this year’s Einblick / Ausblick is networking.
“The Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts is a place of culture and a place of social encounter, inspiring exchange and togetherness,” says Dr Arne Zerbst, President of the Muthesius Academy of Fine Arts. “Especially in these crisis-ridden times, we recognise that our happiness, our fulfilment, can no longer come from capitalist consumption. We need a different fulfilment, which we draw from art and design. Let us carry courage and confidence into society with our works!”
On Thursday, 20 July, Arne Zerbst will ceremoniously open the annual exhibition in the inner courtyard of the art academy at 5 pm. Then a cultural programme lasting several days will begin with music, performances and installations. In addition to concerts and DJ sets, the first exhibitions will also be on display in the inner courtyard. There will be installations and demonstrations, a comic battle, an illustration stand with live drawings, plus hands-on activities for the whole family. In addition, on Friday, 21 July, at 11 a.m. in the Kesselhaus, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) prize for outstanding achievements by international students at German universities will be awarded, and Bachelor’s and Master’s graduates will also receive their certificates. Admission is free to all events.
